Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between sustainable leadership practices of school principal with level of teacher’s job performance in primary school which accepted the new deal in the Segamat district, Johor. Research samples consisted of 204 teachers from 11 primary schools in which all accepted the new deal. A preliminary study which was carried out on 50 teachers recorded Apha Cronbach reliability value for each construct ranged from 0.80 to 0.93. This study employed quantitative method using Likert scale questionnaires as the main instrument. Findings from the study showed that the level of sustainable leadership practised by school heads in the district of Segamat was moderate with a mean score of 3.7682 while work performance was high with a mean score of 4.0794. Based on the findings, it can be conclude that there was a significant relationship between sustainable leadership practice and level of teacher’s job performance. Implications and recommendations for further studies on practice of sustainable leadership were also put forth.
