Abstract

Normally the basic principles of forensic science are applied directly in investigation as these principles are still relevant to be used these days. This research aims to analyse on basic principles of forensic science from Islamic perspective. The research objectives are to identify applied principles of forensic science in cases related to Islamic criminal law cited in primary sources, to elaborate on the similarity of the applied principles with cases in Islamic history, and to explain on the relationship of the principles with Islamic law. Research used documentation as data collection method and data was analysed using historical, inductive and deductive reasoning method. Research found that basic principles of forensic science can help in realisng maqÄsid al-Shari’ah as mukammilat in the application of uqubat. Research suggests that the scope of forensic science should be interpreted in wider range than it has been now.
