Time management skill is one of the most important study skills that need to be acquired by students in assuring excellent achievement in the university. However, indepth studies on the extent this skill has been acquired by students in local higher education institutions and its impact on students’ performance has not been fully explored. Thus, this paper discusses this issue based on a study on 3025 students from seven public and two private universities across various study programmes. Data was collected using a set of questionnaire and analyzed descriptively using t–test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation. Findings of this study found that generally, time management skill of the respondents was generately at moderate and significant differences were established between gender, year of study and fields of study. This study also found significant relationship between time management and performance or cummulative grade point average (r = .127, p < .01).Downloads
